On September 19, 2019, M.Sc. Dennis Wittich (middle in the picture) receives one of two Best Paper Awards for his outstanding contribution Adversarial domain adaptation for the classification of aerial images and height data using convolutional neural networks, published in the ISPRS Annals. The award was handed over during the conference Photogrammetric Image Analysis 2019 (PIA19) & Munich Remote Sensing Symposium 2019 (MRSS19) in the Künstlerhaus München by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Stilla (right in the picture) who is Professor of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing at the Technical University of Munich and editor of the PIA19. In collaboration with apl. Prof. Dr. med. techn. Franz Rottensteiner, Dennis Wittich works in the field of semantic segmentation of aerial images based on neural networks. The other Best Paper Award was presented to Markus Müller (left in the picture) and his colleagues from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
