Franz Rottensteiner receives Carl Pulfrich award

Prof. Franz Rottensteiner is the 2017 recipient of the Carl Pulfrich Award for his groundbreaking work on 3D modeling and automated object extraction.

The Carl Pulfrich Award is one of the most prestigious scientific awards in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing worldwide. It was established in 1969 in memory of Dr. Carl Pulfrich (1858-1927), the father of stereo photogrammetry, who invented the stereo comparator during his time at Zeiss. Originally initiated by Carl Zeiss, Oberkochen, and funded by Leica Geosystems since 2011, it is awarded every two years during the Photogrammetric Week in Stuttgart to scientists who have achieved groundbreaking innovations in theory and practice.
