For his outstanding scientific achievements and services to the Czech Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Prof. em. Gottfried Konecny awarded the Honorary Membership of the society. President, Prof. Lena Halounová from the Technical University Prague offered this very distinct honour to Konecny on April 23, 2013 during the Interexpo Geo-Siberia 2013 in Novosibirsk
During the Geospatial World Forum, recently held in Rotterdam, he was the awardee of the Lifetime Achievement Award from Geospatial Media + Communications Pvt Ltd, India, for his lifelong contributions to the geospatial sector.
